Anyone use Scottrade? Also, a few questions....

Can you put an order in to buy stock, say at midnight, and then when the market opens in the morning the stock will be purchases?

Also, does pre-trading start at 8am? also, can you buy at that time too?

If i put an buy in at 2am in the morning, will the stock be purchased at the opening prices at 8am in pre-trade??

I do not use Scottrade, but for $7 a trade you're par for the course no matter how they run their shop.

1st question: Yes, you can put an order in at midnight and it will be in effect for the market open.

2nd: Yes, pre-market starts @ 8am. Most brokerages allow you to trade in pre-market, check with them.

3rd: I don't think so. I believe you have to trade in pre/post market in real time. If you put an order in at night I believe it is only effective for the market opening.

Check with your brokerage regarding your questions since the answers may vary from house to house.
